Covering an area slightly more than 1 km by 800 metres (3300 by 2600 feet), and surrounded by a moat almost 200 metres (660 feet) wide, Angkor Wat was a city in itself. Angkor Wat is not only the largest of all the Khmer monuments, but the largest temple in the world.
