Visit Cambodia

Visit CambodiaCambodia is a land of ethnic civilization, tradition and culture. It records a rich and diverse history which it draws from the Indian continent. The customs of Indian have largely influenced the country of Cambodia. This is prevalent in the society’s ways and norms. Around ninety five percent of the Cambodian civilization practices Buddhism. The rest of the country’s population follows the teachings of Christianity, Islam, Animism and even Atheism.

The country’s culture is initiated from the reign of Angkor- a thriving empire that lived along the provinces to the Northwestern side of the country. The kingdom controlled majority of the land in the present Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. The Angkor monarchy left in its wake an impressive culture of architecture, music, art and dance which reflect the country’s exotic beauty.
The Cambodian culture follows certain prescribed guidelines which are hierarchical in nature. Respect to elders is highly regarded. Family titles are esteemed highly. Scarf wearing is a unique feature of the Cambodian culture. A scarf is used for various reasons; to safeguard from the sun, sense of style, assist in tree climbing, as a bathing towel or even as a hammock. In the Cambodian society, it’s disrespectful to touch someone’s feet using the head since it’s widely believed that the head controls a person’s soul.

Siem Reap is one of the popular travel destinations in Cambodia. The region is cluttered with several ancient temples, chapels, reservoirs, causeways and hotels. A famous hotel situated in this area is the Siem Reap Hotel. This is a fairly inexpensive Cambodian hotel which offers rich Cambodian cuisines and is located along a pristine beach.

Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia and is located along the banks of river Mekong. It was once known as the pearl of Asia and it’s the hub of the country’s economy. The Phnom Penh hotel is indeed the epitome of pleasure of the Cambodian capital.
