Shahed minar was erected in memory of the 21st february 1952 the great language movement in then east pakistan. In a way shaheed minar is like a power house for all movemens in realizing an independent Bangladesh. It is situated in Dhaka University area. There are many sculptures around the shaheed minar and you can take a walk to see the dhaka university which has many sculptures and century old buildings. In a bengali new year day or 21st february or even in valentines day which is also known as the 1st date in spring in bengali calendar more than million people take part in many exihibitions, concerts in the sorrounding areas.
