Central bhutan is believed to be the first part of Bhutan to have been inhabited with evidence of prehistoric settlements in the Ura valley of Bumtang and the southern region of Khyeng.
This trip is the combinations of different valleys with ancient importance and believes During this trip one can enjoy the sightseeing of the central part of Bhutan where many valleys lies with their own historical and cultural importance and believes and we start the trip from the Thimpu Valley which is known as the only Capital of the World without the traffic lights which is at the elevation of 2320m and another beautiful place Punakha which is much lower elevation at about 1250m above the sea level and it is also known as the former winter capital of Bhutan.Jakar or chakkar another beautiful village which is at the elevation of 2580m above the sea level and this place is also popular as one of the major trading centre of central region of Bhutan after the Jakar valley the trip moves to another valley called Tang and it is the most reomte of Bumtang’s valleys and although there isnot much agriculture at Tang but the valley turns bright pink with buckwheat flowers in October. Another beautiful place Trongsa valley is known as a relaxed and pleasant town and the word Trongsa means the new village in the local dialect and gets the name Trongsa from the retreats, temples and hermit residences and the during the trip in Trongsa one can also enjoy the panaromic view of black mountains to the Southwest.Wangdue another small town name after the small boy Wangdi the legends relate that the Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal met a small boy name Wangdi playing in the sand on the banks of the punak chhu and was moved to name his new dzong Wangdi later Wangdue. The twon is still known colloquially as Wangdi and finally the trip ends with the sightseeing of Paro which is at an elevation of 2280m.
Day 01| upon Arrival at Paro international airport and drive to Thimphu (1 Hr)
our airport representative assists you at Paro international airport and transfer to Thimpu the capital of Bhutan by car /bus and transfer to hotel and at evening you can stroll around Thimpu streets or relax in your hotel and overnight at hotel of Full board basis.
Day 02| The Capital of Bhutan (Thimphu Sightseeing)
Morning visit the weekend market (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday), Handmade paper Mill, School of Arts and crafts where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan, Lunch in town. Drive pass by Memorial Chorten (temple) built in memory of the late 3rd King. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery and overnight at hotel on Fullboard basis.
Day 03| Thimphu – Punakha (2 ½ Hrs)
Early morning drive to Punakha valley through Dochula pass, the second highest road pass in your trip at 3010m. When the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a short tea break continue to sub tropical Punakha. In the afternoon visit the Souvenir Making Center and Punakha Dzong (fortress) which houses the most elaborated temple in the country and overnight at hotel on Full board basis.
Day 04| Punakha – Jakar (7 Hrs)
Check out of the hotel and visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. Continue to Jakar or Chakkar valley over the Pelela pass at 3140m which forms the part of the Black Mountains that divides the country into east and west. At evening lesiure activities of your own or relax at hotel and overnight at hotel on full board basis.Day 05| Full day Jakar valley sightseeing
Visit Jampay Lakhang, the one of the first 2 Buddhist temples built in the country. This is the home of the naked dance that is still performed annually. Visit Kurjey temple, the site where Bhutan’s royals are cremated. Either walk cross the suspension bridge and visit the village of Parar and Tamshing or drive there. End your day with a walk passing by the Swiss farm. At evening stroll around Jakar valley and try some delicious local pancake and noodles and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 06| Full day excursion drive of ura village
Make an excursion drive to the village of Ura one of the most interesting village of Bhutan. The drive will pass over the highest road pass on your trip at Shertang La at 3573m. On clear weather Bhutan’s highest mountain Gangkar Puensum (7540m) can be seen dominating the northern valley. Sightseeing of the Ura village and return back to Jakar and overnight at hotel on Fullboard basis.
Day 07| Jakar – Tang (2 Hrs)
Drive the dirt road to the most remote of the Bumthang valley. En route visit the Burning Lake. Hike for 30 min crossing the bridge to WangdiCholing, a former Place converted into a museum and a guest house and overnight at hotel on Full board basis.
Day 08| Tang – Trongsa (5 Hrs)
After breakfast continue 5 hrs drive to Trongsa valley passing by the wool weaving center which Bumthang Valley is famous for and the way one can enjoy the panaromic view of black mountains to the southwest. Overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 09| Trongsa – Wangdue (3 ½ Hrs)
Morning visit the majestic Trongsa Dzong (Fortress), the home of the royals and the watch tower which houses a museum now. Continue to Wangdi. Stroll in Wangdi town and view the Wangdi Dzong (Fortress) which happens to be the only fortress with the original roof. Overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 10| Wangdue – Paro (3 ½ Hrs)
Return the drive to Paro over the Dochula. In Paro visit the National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. Visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use and at eveint stroll around the old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. One can venture to try local restaurant for dinner and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 11| Paro Sightseeing
Visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the 2 oldest Buddhist temple in the country, historic Drukgyal Dzong (Fortress) and hike to Tiger’s Nest, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro Valley. At evening leisure activities of your own and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 12| Final Departure
Our airport representative assists you at your hotel and transfer to Paro international airport for your final departure to your next destination and our tour staff will bid you farewell at the Paro international airport.
