The Destination Bhutan- the Land of Thunder Dragon trip is designed by Liberty Holidays Inc and venture company Ghale Treks to provide the visitors the ethuntistic taste of bhutan where one can overview the historical and natural places of bhutan which is bhutan famous for from the past decades.
In this tour, we merged the different destination of central part of bhutan where the trip go through with an elevation of 1350m punakha valley and at the maximum height of 2900m Phobjikha valley. All the destiantion have there own different taste of culture, history, people and many more. The destination that includes in this 11 days and 10 nights trip are mentioned below:
Paro: it is the small valley which is at an elevation of 2280m and lies in the centre of the valley on the banks of the paro(or pa) chhu. During the sightseeing trip in paro one can observe the close view of one of the two oldest temple,historic Drukgyal Dzong (Fortress) and hike to Tiger’s Nest, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff over looking the Paro Valley.
Thimpu: it is the capital of the small mountainous country Bhutan and it was established as the capital in 161. Thimpu has a youthful exuberance that constantly challenges the country’s conversation and proud tradition and thimpu is also the world’s only capital without Traffic lights.Thimpu really comes alive during the annual Tsechu festival held consecutively over eight to ten days in spetember and october.corresponding to the eighth lunar month in the Bhutenese calender.
Punakha: it is the another beautiful valley which is at an evlevation of 1250m and sits in a fertile, warm and beautiful valley at the junction of the Mo Chuu(mother river) and pho Chuu(father river) and it also has one of the most famous festivals in the country,dedicated to the protector deity Yeshe Goenpo(Mahakala).
Trongsa: it is at an elevation of 2180m and smack in the middle of the county and both east and west seperated by hihg mountain ranges and it has the rich history dating back to the 16th century and from here one can also observe the closet view of the Black mountains to the south east.
Jakar: this place is the major trading centre of the region which is at an elevation of 2580m and it is also mentioned as Chakkar and jakar itself is a fairly interesting one-street town and it is near the fooot of the Chokhor valley.
Phobjikha: it is a bowl shaped galcial valley on the western shopes of the black mountains and the main attraction of this valley was blacknaked crane which comes from tibetan pleatuto where blacknacked crane use this place as their winter home and it is at an elevation of 290m above the sea level.
Bhutan is one of the most exclusive countries in the world and a real treat for tourists who can get in, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, is no ordinary place. This is a country where buying cigarettes is illegal, where the rice is red and where chillies aren’t just a seasoning but the entire dish. It’s also a deeply Buddhist land, where men wear a tunic to work, where giant protective penises are painted on the walls of most houses, and where Gross National Happiness is deemed more important than Gross National Product.
Day 01| Upon Arrival at Paro international Airport and transfer to Thimphu (1 hr)
Our airport representatives assists you at Paro International Aiport and transfer to Thimpu the capital on Bhutan and rest of time leisure activities of your own and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 02| Full Day Thimphu Sightseeing
Our expert tour guide assists you at your hotel and Morning visit the weekend market (Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday), Handmade paper Mill, School of Arts and crafts where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan, Lunch in town. Drive pass by Memorial Chorten (temple) built in memory of the late 3rd King. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley, Enclosure where national animal, Takin are kept and Zilukha Nunnery and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 03| Thimphu – Punakha (2 ½ hrs)
Drive through Dochula pass, the second highest road pass in your trip at 3010m. When the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. After a short tea break continue to sub tropical Punakha. Afternoon visit the Souvenir Making Center and the Punakha Dzong (fortress) which houses the most elaborated temple in the country and overnight at hotel on Full board basis.
Day 04| Punakha – Trongsa (4 ½ hrs)
Check out of the hotel and visit Chimi Lhakhang on foot, the temple of fertility associated with religious art of phallus. En route, stop in Wangdi. Stroll in Wangdi town and view the Wangdi Dzong (Fortress) which happens to be the only fortress with the original roof. Continue to Trongsa over Pelela Pass at 3300m which forms the part of Black Mountain Range that divides the country into east and west. At evening relax at your hotel and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 05| Trongsa – Jakar (3 hrs)
Morning visit Trongsa town and visit the majestic Trongsa Dzong (Fortress), the home of the royals and the watch tower which houses a museum now. Drive pass by the second highest road pass in your trip at 3425m (Yotong La). En route stop over the weaving place, beside the road where “Yatha” (wool weaving) is done which the Valley of Bumthang is famous for, rest of the time relax at your hotel and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 06| Full Day Jakar Sightseeing
Make an excursion drive to the village of Ura. En-route visit the burning lake. The drive will pass over the Shertang La pass at 3573m. On clear weather Bhutan’s highest mountain Gangkar Puensum (7540m) can be seen dominating the northern valley. Visit the Ura village and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 07| Full DayJakar Sightseeing
Visit Jampay Lakhang, the one of the first 2 Buddhist temples built in the country. This is the home of the naked dance that is still performing annually. Visit Kurjey Temple, the site where royals are cremated, one can either walk cross the suspension bridge and visit the village of Parar and Tamshing or drive there. End your day with a walk passing by the Swiss farm. Evening stroll in Jakar town and overnight at hotel on Full board basis.
Day 08| Jakar – Phobjikha (6 ½ hrs)
Retrace and enjoy the drive back to the valley of Black-necked crane. Black-necked crane is one of the rare specials of the birds in the world, which migrates from Tibetan plateau to Bhutan in winters. On arrival at Gangtey visit Gangtey Gompa, the largest and the only monastery of the Nyingmapa sect in western Bhutan. At evening relax in your hotel and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 09| Phobjikha – Paro (5 ½ hrs)
Check out from the hotel, take an easy valley hike to the Gompa which take about 2 hrs and called Phobjikha Natural Trail, further drive back to Paro. If time permits, in Paro visit the National Museum, the first of its kind which has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. Visit 17 century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldest wooden bridge still in use. Evening stroll old Paro town and peep into some local handicrafts stores. One can also venture to try local restaurant for dinner and overnight at hotel on Full Board basis.
Day 10| Full Day Paro Sightseeeing
Morning hike to Tiger’s Nest, the most revered temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro Valley. Taktsang or the tiger’s nest temple is the most revered temple to the Buddhist. This magical temple clings to a vertical granite cliff 800m above the valley. Legend has it that in the 8th century, Guru Rimpochey, a tantric master flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave around which the temple is built. Afternoon on your way back, visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the 2 oldest Buddhist temples in the country, historic Drukgyal Dzong (Fortress) and at evening leisure activities of your own and overnight at hotel on full board basis.
Day 11| Final Departure:
Our airport representative assists you at your hotel and transfer to Paro international airport and our staff will bid you farewell at the airport and fly onwards to your next destination.

The above rates are applicable per tourist per night halt in Bhutan. The rate can be higher depending upon the nature of services desired beyond the set of entitlements.
On the day of departure from Bhutan, our obligation shall be limited to breakfast only and any extra requirement shall be payable on actual basis.
In order to secure Druk-Air tickets to and from Bhutan and good hotels, tour payment must be made 2 months prior to the date of arrival in Bhutan.
Visa is cleared by the government only after the receipt of full tour payment. Without visa, Druk-Air will not issue tickets. Once the tour reservation has been confirmed, Ghale Treks will provide advance payment options.
