Day 2Trek Preparation

On this day, you will focus on preparing for your trekking adventure, which includes obtaining the necessary permits for the trek. Day 3Drive Kathmandu to Nadi (Local Bus)

Today, you will embark on a scenic 7-8 hour bus journey from Kathmandu to Nadi, offering stunning views of the countryside along the way. Day 4Trek Nadi to Jagat (1314 m)

Day 5Jagat to Dharapani (1943 m)

After reaching Timang, the trail levels out, allowing for a more leisurely pace as you continue your journey to Chame. At the end of the day, you’ll relax and unwind at a comfortable lodge or hotel for the night.

Day 7Chame to Pissang (3185 m)

As the morning sun glistens on the majestic Lamjung Himal (6893m), we set out towards Pisang, passing through enchanting fir and pine forests. The trail climbs to a rugged area where the opposing cliffside becomes impassable, and you’ll soon find yourself amid steep valley walls as you navigate towards Bhratang (2950m). Along the way, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the eastern peak of Annapurna II and the impressive Pisang Peak (6091m) to the northeast. Your journey continues past a long Mani wall by a bridge, leading you to the charming lower village of Pisang. Throughout the day, you will enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with your overnight stay at a cozy lodge or hotel.

Day 8Pissang to Manang (3351 m)

Leaving Pisang behind, the trail ascends a steep ridge, offering breathtaking views of the Manang valley and the towering Tilicho Peak (7145m). As you descend past the airstrip at Hungde (3320m), a flat area greets you where the majestic northeast face of Annapurna III looms overhead, while Annapurna IV (7525m) becomes visible as you traverse the wide plains of the Sabje Khola Valley. You’ll soon cross a wooden bridge over the significantly diminished flow of the Marshyangdi Khola, leading you to the quaint village of Mungji. After a brief steep climb, you arrive in Manang, a surprisingly large settlement for this remote mountainous region. Throughout the day, you’ll be provided with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will rest for the night at a comfortable lodge or hotel.

Day 9Rest in Manang for acclimatization

We will spend an extra day in Manang to acclimatize, soaking in the stunning vistas of verdant landscapes, shimmering mountains, and the intricate Chortens and Monasteries that dot the scenery. This day allows us to delve deeper into the unique culture and way of life of the local communities, offering a rich experience of the region’s heritage. Throughout the day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided, and you’ll enjoy a restful overnight stay at a cozy lodge or hotel.

Day 10Manang to Yak Kharka (3800 m)

The trek progresses gradually upwards along the Thorong Khola, passing through the settlements of Tangki Manang, Ghusang (3900m), and Ghyanchang, until we reach Yak Kharka. The journey involves crossing a stream, climbing to Tenki above Manang, and then ascending out of the Marshyangdi Valley while veering northwest into the Jarsang Khola valley. As we navigate this route, we’ll enjoy the scenery of pastures and clusters of juniper trees while steadily gaining altitude. The trail takes us near the small village of Ghunsa, characterized by its flat mud roofs, before continuing through meadows where horses and yaks graze. Eventually, we will arrive at Yak Kharka, concluding a day filled with beautiful landscapes. Meals provided include breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with accommodation for the night at a lodge or hotel.

Day 11Thorong Phedi (4335 m)

Departing from Yak Kharka, we will gradually climb to a ridge before descending to the headwaters of the Marshyangdi River, where we’ll cross via a suspension bridge. After a brief ascent along the mountain path on the right bank, we will navigate a narrow trail that traverses an unstable scree slope before descending further to Thorong Phedi. This challenging yet rewarding trek culminates in a restful overnight stay at a lodge, where we’ll provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for your enjoyment.

Day 12Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3798 m)

Today marks the highlight of your trek as you prepare to conquer the formidable Thorong La pass at an altitude of 5,416 meters. An early start is essential for this challenging ascent, but the effort is richly rewarded with breathtaking views from the summit, showcasing snow-covered peaks and the expansive Kali Gandaki valley below, along with the stunning brown and purple hills of Mustang stretching out before you. After this exhilarating experience, you’ll enjoy hearty meals throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with overnight accommodations provided in a lodge or hotel.

Day 13Drive Muktinath to Jhomsom by Local Bus
