Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and hotel transfer

Upon your arrival, our representative will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. They will assist you with the check-in process to ensure a smooth start to your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a leisurely stroll through the vibrant capital, exploring nearby attractions after you’ve had some time to rest. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Sightseeing day at Kathmandu and preparation for climb preparation

Elevation: 1,345 meters (4,412 feet)

On the second day of your Larkya Peak Climbing adventure, immerse yourself in the rich history and vibrant culture of Kathmandu Valley. You’ll have the opportunity to explore several of the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with seven of Nepal’s ten such sites located here. As it’s impossible to cover all in one day, we will carefully select a few key highlights for your visit like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swpyambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, your climbing guide will provide a briefing for the upcoming adventure. This is also a great opportunity to complete any last-minute shopping or rental needs for your Larkya Peak expedition. Overnight stay at the hotel

Day 3: Kathmandu to Soti Khola drive

Elevation: 1,345 meters (4,412 feet)

On the third day of your Larkya Peak Climbing expedition, prepare for a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola. Following an early breakfast, you will board a comfortable vehicle and set off, navigating through the bustling streets of the capital. As you progress along the Prithvi Highway, you’ll be captivated by the diverse landscapes—lush green hills, the winding Trishuli and Marsyangdi Rivers, and charming settlements nestled along the riverbanks. The stunning Himalayan views on the horizon will enhance this exhilarating journey. After a smooth drive on paved roads up to Dhading, you will transition to off-road trails. The final stretch will take you along the picturesque Budi Gandaki River, ultimately leading you to Soti Khola, where your adventure continues.

Day 4: Trekking from Soti Khola to Machha Khola

On Day 4 of your Larkya Peak Climbing adventure, you will transition from driving to trekking, beginning your journey after witnessing a breathtaking sunrise over the mountains. Your trek will lead you through lush forests, picturesque terraced lands, and sparkling waterfalls, as you make your way to Labubensi Village. Following the captivating trails along the Budi Gandaki River, you’ll pass several charming Gurung settlements before reaching Khanbensi. The final stretch of the trek involves an uphill route, leading you to the serene destination of Machha Khola, where you will enjoy the rewarding beauty of the natural surroundings.

Day 5: Machha Khola to Jagat trek

Machha Khola Elevation: 883 meters (2,896 feet)

On the fifth day of your Larkya Peak Climbing expedition, you will embark on an enriching trek from Machha Khola to Jagat, gaining elevation through beautiful Gurung settlements and terraced farmland. After crossing the Thora Khola, you’ll journey toward Khola Beni while once again following the scenic banks of the Budi Gandaki River. The trail meanders through lush forests of rhododendron, fir, and pine, bringing you to Kholra Bensi Village. From there, you will head towards Tatopani, renowned for its natural hot springs, before crossing a steel bridge that connects you to Dovan Village. In the latter part of the trek, you’ll traverse through picturesque settlements like Yaruphant and Thulo Dunga on the opposite bank of the river, culminating your day’s adventure at the vibrant village of Jagat.

Day 6: Jagat to Deng

Jagat Elevation: 1,415 meters (4,641 feet)
Deng Elevation: 1,804 meters (5,917 feet)

On Day 6 of your Larkya Peak Climbing expedition, you’ll begin your day with a hearty breakfast before crossing a suspension bridge from Jagat to reach the Tibetan-influenced village of Salleri. The trekking route from Jagat to Sirdibas is relatively flat, allowing you to enjoy a moderate trek accompanied by stunning views of the Siringi Himal (7,161 meters). Continuing along the Budi Gandaki River trail from Sirdibas, you’ll make your way to Philim Village and then proceed toward Nayapul, crossing Eklebhatti along the way. Here, you’ll take the left route that leads to Nyak and Nyak Phedi, located by the banks of the river. Finally, the trek transitions to an ascending path, guiding you to your destination for the day, Deng.

Day 7: Trekking from Deng to Namrung

Deng Elevation: 1,804 meters (5,917 feet)
Namrung Elevation: 2,670 meters (8,757 feet)
Elevation Gain: 866 meters (2,841 feet)
Trek Duration: 6-7 hours

On Day 7 of your Larkya Peak Climbing adventure, you’ll embark on a scenic trek from Deng toward Namrung, following the right side of the Budi Gandaki River. As you journey, you’ll pass through the villages of Bihi and Bihi Phedi, navigating the Serang Khola gorge and immersing yourself in the spiritual atmosphere of the Buddhist monasteries found in Bihi Village, where you can also enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna Massifs and Manaslu. The trek continues to Ghap, another vibrant Buddhist village, before concluding with an ascent that takes approximately an hour and a half to reach the picturesque Namrung Village, your destination for the day.

Day 8: Namrung to Shya trek

Namrung Elevation: 2,670 meters (8,757 feet)
Shya Elevation: 3,530 meters (11,578 feet)
Elevation Gain: 860 meters (2,821 feet)
Trek Duration: 5-6 hours

On Day 8 of your Larkya Peak Climbing journey, you will begin your trek with a beautiful route through pine and rhododendron forests alongside a gorge, enjoying spectacular views of Ganesh and Siringi Himal. Along the way, you’ll pass through the Buddhist settlement of Lihi before continuing toward Sho Village. As you follow the trail, you’ll see Lho Village to the left of the Budi Gandaki River, with picturesque yak pastures where you can observe grazing yaks and take in the stunning views of Manaslu and Manaslu North. After an ascent, your trek will culminate in Shya Village, where you can take a short hike to explore the ancient Tibetan monastery, Phun Gyen Gompa.

Day 8: Shya to Samagaon trekking

Day 10: Acclimatization and exploration day at Samagaon

You will pass through picturesque yak pastures and encounter traditional mani walls before arriving at the charming high-altitude settlement of Samdo, situated near the Nepal-Tibetan border.

Day 12: Second acclimatization at Samdo

Samdo Elevation: 3,872 meters (12,700 feet)

On Day 12 of your Larkya Peak Climbing expedition, you will spend a second acclimatization day in the serene and spiritually vibrant village of Samdo, located in the alpine environment of the Himalayas. This charming Buddhist settlement is adorned with chortens, mani walls, monasteries, and prayer flags, providing a rich cultural experience. After ensuring proper acclimatization, you will pass by mani walls and chortens, then switch to trails along the Budi Gandaki River. You’ll cross a wooden bridge to enter Larkya Bazaar, a historical commercial hub of the central Himalayas. Continuing along the ascending trail, you will reach Dharamsala, an important rest point for trekkers, equipped with food and accommodation facilities, despite not being a typical teahouse destination.

Day 14: Larkya Phedi to Larkya Base Camp
